Save MS-Flight Sim...Petition

As some of you may know. Microsoft have dissided to shut down ACES studios, while cutting five-hundred jobs.

If you (like me and MANY other flight simmers) don't like this stupid and unusual choice made by Microsoft, then you can join me in signing a petition i found while crawling the web. As of 20th May there have been 7335, which includes me.

Avsim- Hacked!!!

Can you believe, some people. On May the 12 (US) the famous flight sim website www.avsim.com was hacked. My understanding is that the hacker, practically destroyed the site. Some are saying that it could be impossible to repair the site from its damages. The site servers and the back up servers were both apparently destroyed. My understanding is a bit blurry so far, due to the lack of information. Avsim have issued the following press release: “We regret to inform the flight simulation community that on Tuesday, May 12, AVSIM was hacked and effectively destroyed. The method of the hack makes recovery difficult, if not impossible, to recover from. Both servers, that is the library / email and web site / forum servers were attacked. AVSIM is totally offline at this time and we expect to be so for some time to come. We are not able to predict when we will be back online, if we can come back at all. We will post more news as we are able to in the coming days and weeks….”. A sad, sad day for the flight sim community, and in my opinion, if the hacker is ever tracked down or found should be charged with...i don't know, destruction of property or something. AVSIM have set up a temporary forums site. If you have ever used Avsim you will know that it is a great source for flight sim addons. Every donation will go towards the recreation or rebuilding of the avsim website.

Free Orbx Addons

Hello people.... if you want some excellent FREE addons for FSX then go take a look at the FTX website. They have some great freeware like the demo for FTX AU Blue, which covers the Entire state of Tasmania (in australia). And other addons like FTX AU traffic which adds AI traffic for your simulator which is much better than the default AI traffic. You can also download a 76M terrain add-on which covers all of australia and its islands (Welcome to real mountains). The FTX freeware site also includes repaints for some well known payware aircraft like the Carenado 182RG and the Carenado Mooney, and the default Bell 206B and of cause in true ORBX style their all in HD!!!. The website also includes enven more addons like addon airports (free) like PORT MACQUARIE and LAUNCESTON AIRPORT, just to name a few. This would have to be the most generous bunch of people on the sim market out their, they even have free scenery for the Avalon Airshow.I have considered buying some of their products because its so great, maybe you should to. Just Flight DC10 Collection Review

I recently purchased the DC-10 Collection from just flight, and let me tell you it is a great addition to your virtual hanger.
It includes 8 different model variants including the the very famous DC-10-30, DC-10-40 and the KC-10A Extender with an animated fuel boom. Along with 8 models there are 39 (trust me i counted) different textures, most of them going to the DC-10-30. The Collection also comes with an optional push back truck which looks much better that the default push back.
